Rose Flower Carpet White. Snowy-white fragrant petals that remain unaffected by rain. An easy-care groundcover rose with a super-long flowering period. High disease resistance. Great for flower beds, mass plantings and containers. Plant 2-3 per square metre for ground cover and 60-90cm apart for borders. Cut back to a third of its size in late winter.
Trimming: Lightly trim after the first flush of flowers to encourage more flowering. Prune back by about one-third in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote vigorous growth.
Deadheading: Regularly remove spent flowers to encourage continuous flowering throughout the season.
Fertilising: Feed with a balanced rose fertiliser in early spring, and again after the first flush of flowers. Avoid over-fertilising, as this can lead to excessive foliage growth at the expense of flowers.
Watering: Water thoroughly during the establishment phase and maintain consistent moisture levels, especially during dry periods. Water deeply once or twice a week, avoiding overhead watering to prevent fungal diseases.
Pest Control: Monitor for aphids, spider mites, and thrips. Use insecticidal soap or neem oil to manage infestations. Keep an eye out for Japanese beetles and hand-pick them if necessary.
Disease Management: Carpet Rose White is relatively disease-resistant but can be affected by black spot and powdery mildew. Ensure good air circulation and avoid wetting the foliage. Treat with a fungicide if symptoms appear. Remove and dispose of any infected leaves to prevent the spread of disease.
